According to the various dictionary, the word 'Smart' for an object, means bright, fresh, etc. But according to the tech world, it means above average. The word is actually used in the recent past for mobile phones. A mobile phone is called 'smart' when it has various features than an average phone. The one which has got more capability, advance computing, faster, brighter and more and more.
Now, you can call a phone, 'a smart phone', which allows you to handle everything just on your palm. From sending text messages to creating word and excel files on the go.
Except for Grinder, Mixer, Fan, AC and other electronic devices (for the time being), a smart phone has got touch screen, digital cameras, awesome media players, etc.
Smart phones also enables you to stay connected even if you're in the bathroom. It has the facility of internet connection, Wi-fi connections, bluetooth (fortunately not telepathy yet), etc.
They also have different Operating Systems (OS) like Windows, Google's Android, Apple's iOS where you can use many third-party applications for various needs. GPS is one of the features of smart phones, which helps you to navigate.
Smart phones are replacing the basic phones. They are getting popular even among lower income group of people. Many electronic manufacturing companies have started to make their own brand names in the market.
While Laptops are replacing the Desktop computers and Tablets are replacing Laptops, Smart Phones replacing everything else in the tech world.
